About Us
Our Story
Judimo Education Centre was born out of a dream by Judy, a dedicated teacher, and Moses, her supportive husband of 24 years. Together, they recognized the critical need for education in the Soweto Slum, where poverty and social inequality are rampant.
What began as a humble school with only 40 children in 2015 has since grown to serve 293 students—60% of whom are between 4 and 8 years old. The number of children attending our school continues to increase, a reflection of the growing trust and need for the education we provide.
Why We Exist
The Need for Education
Education is a luxury many children in the Soweto Slum cannot afford. Income inequality and gender-based challenges make it difficult for families to send their children to school. In fact, research shows that nine in ten children from poor households will fail to complete 8th grade. Even more alarming, one in two Kenyan girls will never attend school.
Every year, nearly 13,000 Kenyan girls drop out of school permanently due to pregnancy, further increasing their vulnerability to exploitation, forced labor, and unsafe living conditions.

03
Our dream is to own the land on which we can build a permanent school, up to the highest safety and sanitation standards. But in the meantime, we need your support to keep the school operational and provide for the basic needs of our students.
